Health Justice Partnership
Health Justice Partnerships (HJPs) are an established collaborative model that facilitates integrated health and legal responses to complex challenges. The early years of parenting can be a challenging time for families, with many experiencing a combination of physical, psychosocial and material pressures that can often result in health, financial, employment, housing, and relationship issues. Helping families address destabilising issues is an opportunity to support the capacity of parents to provide safe and healthy environments for themselves and their children.
Lawyers in School
BGCLS has partnered with St Arnaud Secondary College for a Lawyer in Schools pilot project. St Arnaud has consistently reported higher than state average rates of family violence. The project aims to create a trusting relationship between students and lawyer leading to positive community engagement with the justice system. It is envisaged that this will lead to increased family stability and increased attendance at school.
Collaborate for Change: Advancing Housing Justice in Regional Victoria
Collaborate for Change: Advancing Housing Justice in Regional Victoria is a two-year project bringing together six regional community legal services to address housing challenges. It will map local issues, strengthen advocacy and host a regional housing summit in 2026. The project is dedicated to driving community-led solutions and pushing for better housing policies.
